  Dean Cardasis, a registered landscape architect for 20 years, has received national and international awards for his parks, gardens and landscape preservation projects. These include the American Society of Landscape Architects' Honor Award, the ASLA Classic Award and the ASLA Centennial Medallion. His works have been published in numerous books, including One Hundred Years of Landscape Architecture and The New American Garden, as well as magazines such as Garden Design and Landscape Architecture. He is a fellow in the American Society of Landscape Architects; a professor of landscape architecture at UMass and director of the James Rose Center.
Elizabeth Thompson, a registered landscape architect for 13 years, applies 20 years of experience as a painter and sculptor to the fine art of landscape design. She has worked on large-scale planning projects as well as residential-scale designs throughout the Northeast and has consulted on regional and national award-winning landscape designs. She serves on the Board of Directors of the James Rose Center for Landscape Architectural Research and Design and as a visiting instructor in landscape design fundamentals and small property design at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
