Conceptual design for this Hospice House site plan includes a central community gathering space within a grove of existing mature trees bordered by a walking loop. From the loop, a series of sitting spaces offer a progression of experience ranging from open to secluded. Each resident room has its own easily accessible private outdoor space. Sights, sounds, smells, solar orientation, seasonal changes, and air and light movement were carefully considered from every bed and throughout the site. Quiet secluded spaces were also provided for family and staff.
